Andrej GosarAfter traveling to various places in the native and foreign countries of Slovenia, the documentary exhibition Dr. Andrej Gosar, the founder of the welfare state in Slovenia, is also on display in Nova Gorica, namely in the hall of the co-cathedral of Christ the Redeemer (Sedejeva ulica 2, 5000 Nova Gorica).The panels of this exhibition in Slovenian, German and English present in detail the distinguished pre-war university professor Andrej Gosar (Logatec, 1887 – Ljubljana, 1970), who was also the minister for social policy in Belgrade and experienced the Dachau concentration camp during the war, and after the war political pressures and forced social anonymity. The authors of the exhibition, which was made possible by the Municipality of Logatec, are Bibijana Mihevc, Štefan Skledar and dr. Ariana Volarić.At the opening of the exhibition, on Wednesday, October 16, at 7 p.m., there will also be a round table about this famous Slovenian Catholic thinker, sociologist and publicist. The introduction to the interview will be given by journalist Ivo Jevnikar, who will also connect the interventions of the participants. About the efforts so far to get to know Dr. Cultural worker Štefan Skledar will speak about Gosar at home and abroad, and about his religious and social thought the philosopher and theologian dr. Janez Juhant, and about Gosar’s contacts with the “Gori area” university professor and prolific researcher and publicist dr. Mira Cencič.
