The youth from Kapela and the Nova Gorica Parish Kapela invite young people to the last meeting of “Evenings for Young People” this school year, which will be
on Saturday, May 17, 2025 in Kostanjevica in Nova Gorica
Program:
- 5:30 p.m.: conversation in the monastery hall with former addicts treated in the Srečanje Community; the conversation will be about the decision to receive treatment, the treatment itself and a new beginning and life after treatment; the conversation will be led by Alojzij Štefan from the Pelikan-Caritas Institute
- 7:00 p.m.: Holy Mass in the church, the concelebration will be led by the local parish priest, Fr. Boštjan Horvat, led by the novice priest Mel Kovic
- 8:00 p.m.: socializing and picnic in the monastery garden

About the Srečanje Community:
- The Srečanje Community is the first in Slovenia where boys who have decided to leave a life of drug addiction live.
- In living together, through self-help and mutual assistance, through getting used to order, discipline and responsibility, and through work, they strengthen their will to live without drug addiction after 30 to 36 months, the duration of the program.
- The Srečanje community has also taken over the care of the monastery property, so that they can grow most of their own food, take care of the domestic animals, and in this way concretely encounter work and the care of survival.
- They are cared for by Slovene Caritas, which has a special program to help addicts.
